UEFA

UEFA, or the Union of European Football Associations, is the governing body for soccer (football) in Europe. It was founded on June 15, 1954, and is responsible for organizing national and club competitions within the continent, including notable tournaments such as the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and the UEFA European Championship (Euro). UEFA establishes the rules and regulations for its competitions, promotes the sport in Europe, and oversees the development of soccer at all levels in its member associations, which currently number 55. The organization’s headquarters are located in Nyon, Switzerland.
